PRIVACY POLICY
Effective Date: October 31, 2026
1. Introduction and Our Commitment
As the developer ("we," "us," or "our") of the "Headphone Cleaner" application ("Application"), we are deeply committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy transparently explains what information we collect when you use our Application, why and how we use that information, and how we protect your rights.
If you do not agree with the terms of this policy, please do not use the Application.
2. Information We Collect and Why We Collect It
Our Application is designed to function by collecting a minimal amount of data. It has no account or sign-in.
2.1. Information Collected Automatically
Device Information:
- What is collected: Device model, operating system version and language.
- Why it is collected: To tune haptic feedback and sound playback for your device and to understand which devices the Application runs on.
Usage Data:
- What is collected: In-app interactions, such as which cleaning modes and tools are used, session duration, and whether a clean finished.
- Why it is collected: To improve the user experience, understand the most popular features, and guide future development.
Error and Diagnostic Data:
- What is collected: When a feature fails, for example a clean or a Sound Check that cannot start, the Application records the type of error together with the usage data above. Crash reports reach us only through Apple, and only if you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.
- Why it is collected: To identify and quickly resolve technical issues, thereby increasing the Application's stability.
Purchase Information (Pseudonymized):
- What is collected: A random app user identifier and your subscription status. We never see your Apple ID or payment details; Apple processes all payments.
- Why it is collected: To ensure you have seamless access to the features you have purchased and can restore them.
Advertising Measurement (Meta SDK and Apple Search Ads):
- What is collected: App events such as installs, app opens and purchases. Only if you allow tracking when iOS asks ("Allow app to track your activity"), your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) is also shared. If you do not allow tracking, the advertising identifier is not shared. On iOS the Application also passes Apple's Search Ads attribution token to RevenueCat, which tells us whether an install came from an Apple Search Ads campaign; this does not use the advertising identifier and does not depend on the tracking prompt.
- Why it is collected: To measure the performance of the ads we run for the Application. You can change your choice at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
2.2. Information You Provide or Allow
Microphone Access:
- When it is used: Only when you start a Sound Check or a microphone test and have granted microphone access.
- How it is processed: The Application plays a short test sound and listens to it to calculate a sound score. The audio is processed only on your device; it is never uploaded, never sent to us or to third parties, and is discarded when the measurement ends. The resulting scores are saved on your device, in your Timeline, where you can delete them with "Clear history". The scores and a few numeric statistics about the measurement (for example signal levels and whether it succeeded), never the audio itself, are also sent to Google Firebase Analytics with your usage data so we can improve the analysis. You can turn microphone access off at any time in Settings; the rest of the Application keeps working.
Notifications:
- When it is used: Only if you allow notifications.
- How it is processed: Care reminders are scheduled locally on your device. No notification content is sent to our servers.
2.3. Information We Do Not Collect
We never collect personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, phone number, precise location, photos, contacts or audio recordings.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the limited information we collect for the following purposes:
- To Provide and Manage the Application: To deliver the core functionalities of the Application (e.g., device-specific sound and vibrations) and to manage premium subscriptions.
- To Improve the Application: To enhance the performance, usability, and features of the Application through usage analysis and error reports.
- To Measure Our Advertising: To understand how the ads we run for the Application perform (see Advertising Measurement above).
- To Ensure Security: To protect the integrity of our services.
We do not show ads inside the Application, and we do not sell your personal data.
4. How We Share Your Information
We share data only with the service providers listed below, for the stated purposes:
- Google Firebase (Analytics, Remote Config): Usage data, device information, Sound Check scores and measurement statistics, and an app instance identifier, for analytics and app configuration. Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- RevenueCat: A random app user identifier and purchase history, to manage subscriptions and in-app purchases, and on iOS the Apple Search Ads attribution token, to measure our Apple Search Ads campaigns. RevenueCat's privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
- Meta Platforms (Facebook SDK): App events and, only if you allow tracking, your advertising identifier, to measure our ads. Meta's privacy policy: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy
5. Data Security
We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical measures to ensure the security of your data. All data sent to third-party services is protected with TLS/SSL encryption. Information such as purchase status is stored securely on your device.
6. Data Retention
Microphone audio is never stored. The on-device copies of your sound scores, cleaning history and settings stay on your device until you clear them or delete the Application. Data held by Firebase, RevenueCat and Meta, including the scores sent with usage data (see 2.2), is kept according to their own retention policies.
7. Your Choices and Rights
- Tracking: Allow or refuse in the iOS prompt, or change it later in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- Microphone and notifications: Turn them off at any time in the iOS Settings app.
- On-device data: Delete it with "Clear history" in the Application, or by deleting the Application.
Depending on your jurisdiction (such as under GDPR or CCPA), you may also request access to, or erasure of, information held about you. Because the Application has no accounts, we hold no data that identifies you by name; we will help you with requests to our service providers where we can. To exercise these rights or for any questions about data privacy, please contact us using the contact information below.
8. Children's Privacy
Our Application is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent age in the relevant jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be effective from the moment they are posted on this page with a new "Effective Date."
